1st and 2nd March 2020 Australia
Letting Go and Letting Come
On the 1st and 2nd March 2020 Sister Ellen Flynn DC, Provincial of the British Province, together with Sister Zoe O'Neill, Sister Margaret Bannerton, Sr Kay Harte, Sister Moira Bain and Fr Paul Roche CM, Provincial Director, (who were representing the British Province), joined Sister Celine Quadros DC, Provincial of the Australian Province, and her Sisters at their Provincial House in Marsfield, Sydney for two special days to mark the beginning of the integration process for the Provinces of Australia and Great Britain to become the new province of Roalie Rendu. This process would be completed on 11th March in Mill Hill, London. They were joined by Sister Marie Raw DC, General Councillor from our Mother House in Paris.
On the 1st March Sister Ellen talked to the Sisters about the content of the new Rosalie Rendu Province Charter - its spirit and legal implications. This was followed by a very moving ritual of "Letting Go and Letting Come"
On the 2nd March, Sister Marie Raw DC, gave a wonderful talk about Blessed Sister Rosalie Rendu DC after whom the new province is being named. Sister Rosalie was a Daughter of Charity who was a leading worker and organiser of care for the poor of 19th century Paris' teeming slums.
Later the Sisters took part in a Mass to celebrate the future beginning of the new Rosalie Rendu Province. This liturgy was concelebrated by Fr Phil (Director), Fr Paul and a number of other Vincentian Priests.
The culmination of this wonderful day was the planting of a Eucalyptus tree in the grounds at Marsfield. For all that has been THANKS. For all to come YES.
