Turning Green in Salford
Attending the CoR Laudato Si' Conference
"If we see the Christian life as a pilgrimage it reminds us of our responsibility to leave the pilgrim route in good shape for those who follow us.” Inspiring words from Sr Margaret Atkins OSA and Steve Burrowes at the Laudato Si' Conference for Religious held in Salford Cathedral on 29th March 2020.Sisters Bridie, Susan and Maureen represented the Daughters of Charity at this important gathering. As DCs we know from our world-wide, first hand experience, that ecological problems damage the Poor first of all and so these issues must be close to our hearts as servants of the poor. In fact ecological issues have been one of the 4 core themes discussed at our recent Domestic Assemblies. Global Healing is integral to our Christian Faith and Vincentian Vocation, calling us to collaborate with as many people as possible in order to turn our "green" values and ideas into practical action.
