Affiliation of Rosaleen Glancy

On Saturday, 19th July 2008, Miss Rosaleen Glancy was incorporated as an affiliate to the Daughters of Charity of the British Province in St Mark's church, Shettleston, Glasgow.  

Affiliates are lay people who, in their collaboration with the Daughters of Charity, have shown themselves to be steeped in the spirit of Saint Vincent de Paul, particularly in their  wholehearted, loving service of poor  people and of those who are disadvantaged in any way. In congratulating Rosaleen, we are also reminded of all our faithful collaborators, whether affiliates or not.  We thank them, and we thank God for them.

Rosaleen was surrounded by her immediate family and by a number of Daughters of Charity who know her well.  The simple ceremony of affiliation in the parish church was followed by a delicious tea in the garden of the Daughters of Charity house nearby. The whole afternoon was pleasant, enjoyable and uplifting ... even the sun shone bright and warm in Glasgow for the occasion!  Thank you, Rosaleen, congratulations and God bless you.
