Visit from the Duchess of Norfolk
One of the "founding" Daughters of Charity in the British Province was Sr Mary Howard who, before joining our Community, was known as Lady Etheldreda Fitzalan Howard. She was the daughter of the Duke of Norfolk and it was her family who provided the Province with the property and land at Mill Hill. Late June 2007 the Sisters in Provincial House had the joy of a visit from the present Duchess of Norfolk who is also a patron of the Depaul Foundation. She spent a very relaxed time seeing the house, meeting the Sisters and finding out about her forebear who became one of us!
