Sister Rosalie's Golden Jubilee
I celebrated my Golden Jubilee on 8th
March 2008 at St. Vincent’s Carlisle Place with my
family, my local community, friends, and extended member of the
Community with whom
I have lived over the years in various parts of Britain. Mass
was celebrated by Fr Fergus
Kelly CM, Fr John Concannon CM, and Brendan McQuillan.
My local community here at Carlisle Place put so much
effort and time into making this a
momentous celebration which was thoroughly enjoyed by all. My
family was so impressed
at the welcome and hospitality they received and the celebration was
second to none in
their eyes.
My sincere thanks to my local community for all their
hard work, thanks to Sister Sarah
our Provincial and to all my family and the extended community of
Daughters of Charity
for their presence which made it such a wonderful occasion. Sister
Sarah thanked all for
coming and reminded us that “Celebrations are important - we need to
celebrate these
special occasions”. We enjoyed each others company during the
afternoon and the
celebration concluded with a “sing along”
Reflecting back on my 50 years in Community I have
received many blessings during this
time in working with underprivileged people in many areas of
ministry including Children,
Young People, Parish Ministry, and at present being part of the
Chaplaincy Team
in the Passage Day Centre for Homeless People. It has been a
great privilege following
the inspiration of Vincent de Paul and Louise de Paul the Founders
of the Daughters of
Charity in serving those in need.
I praise and thank God for His goodness to me during
the last 50 years.
Sister Rosalie Hayes DC
