LiveIt Event in Manchester
Wish you could live more simply?
Tired of a world of consumerism and hype?
Then join the LiveSimply project and get ready for
change! That's what these
Daughters of Charity have been doing!
On
15th March a sizeable representation of Daughters of Charity joined
nearly 600
activists at the LiveSimply event in central Manchester. This was
part of two days
of inspiration and action over the weekend of 14-15 March 2008. On
Friday 350 sixth
formers from 21 schools all over England and Wales took over New
Century House.
Then on the Saturday more people gathered to hear speakers: Fr Jim
O'Keefe on the
Church's Social Teaching; Mary Colwell - environmentalist, ecologist
and BBC producer;
the Anglican bishop of York, Archbishop John Sentamu; theologian
David Wells and
liturgist Phil Jacob- as well as see dramas, and join in various
liturgies and workshops.
