Sister Louise - 100 Years not out!

She was up and ready quite early on this day. Four of the Sisters had organised her presents and cards, so she received them on the day itself. The home was bedecked with flowers, pictures and balloons, and, when I went in to wish her a Happy Birthday, she was  watching the birds and squirrels attack her bird table in the special Birthday Garden outside her bedroom window.

Among her visitors, Sister Louise was lucky enough to have Jimmy McGovern and his friend Percy, both ChelseaSr Louise Parker Pensioners, who also read at Mass.  Pam Rhodes, 'Songs of Praise' presenter, was a most welcome visitor.  Her presence was much appreciated by Sister Louise who still enjoys Sunday evenings when 'Songs of Praise' is transmitted.

All present thoroughly enjoyed the sumptuous meal prepared by the Catering Department, after which we were wonderfully entertained by Sergio, a talented clarinet player.

To crown the day, Sister Louise received cards and letters from many people including the Queen, Cardinal Cormac Murphy O’Connor, Ed Balls our local Member of Parliament and Charlie Dimmock. The Papal Nuncio presented her with a special Papal Blessing.

This was truly a memorable day which Sister Louise greatly enjoyed. We look forward to her 101st Birthday.
