Sister Louise - 100 Years not out!
Sister Louise Parker has been a resident at St.
Vincent’s Nursing Home, Pinner since July 2006.
She was born Mary Theresa on 29th March 1908, in
London,
and had one brother and one sister.
Her sister was also a Daughter
of Charity.
Mary Theresa
Parker joined the Daughters of Charity on 29th June
1927, and for most of her active life devoted
herself to teaching in various primary schools, mainly in
London and Bristol. She loved her work with
children
and found it very
fulfilling. After her
retirement, she spent some years in ministry at the Mother-House of
the Daughters of Charity in Paris. Now, at 100 years of age, Sister Louise is naturally less active and more
restricted, but accepts these limitations in a way is a lesson in
humility for us all. Her great
desire is to do God's Will, and her rosary is never far from her side.
On her 100th birthday, 29th March 2008,
a congregation
of family members, Sisters and friends joined Sister Louise in the
joyful Eucharist which was celebrated by Fr Fergus Kelly CM, Fr Ray
Armstrong CM and Fr Bob
Barry.
