Reunion in Hastings
On Saturday the 1st of May I was invited by some of the past
pupils from St Vincent's School, St Leonards-on-Sea to join
them in Hastings for a reunion. As I was driving down to
Hastings I was recalling all the journeys that I had made
there before the M25 was built - so that tells how long I'm
going back! I drove to the school first. How sad to see it
boarded up and then on to Curtis House which did not look
lived in. Then to the sea, where I remembered all our
Sisters who had enjoyed holidays in St Leonards. I walked,
remembered and prayed for so many. What a beautiful and
great evening it was. All the memories and stories that came
flooding back. All the names of the girls and especially
their faces. All like myself a few years older. Many of them
have families and have done so well. They looked happy. The
girls asked for so many Sisters by name, and shared funny
stories that they remembered from their days in school.
Some of the staff, Stella
Maris (Knight) Jane Mc Naught-Davies and Val Hall, also
joined us. They too looked a little older. Frances Dobson
came later in the evening. I think this will be the first of
many reunions. I hope you enjoy the photos and see who you
remember. Love and Blessings and please pray for the girls
that you remember. Sister Theresa Tighe DC
