Trivett, Kathleen Fox and Maria Robb from the British
Province gathered with other Daughters of Charity under ten
years vocation and their Formation Councillors from the five
North American Provinces, and Australian Province for a Vow
Institute entitled “We are More than the Vows”. In an
atmosphere of simplicity and enthusiasm, the Sisters engaged
in the talks with Fr. Pat McDevitt, CM and further explored
these topics through collage and creative writing sessions
facilitated by Sr. Sharon Horace, DC. They also worshipped
joyfully and found many opportunities to share experience at
table, on walks and during the evening.
 The daily themes – Wholeness and Holiness; Connections and Paradoxes; Witness and Ministry; and Growth and Development – invited a holistic, integrated meditation on the vows in the context of our life of service lived in community and provided a forum for sharing our hopes, dreams, joys, sorrows, challenges, pains and times of growth. All were encouraged and challenged. The Sisters under ten are developing a document to further share their learning, commitments and hopes for going forward. |
