Vincentian Volunteers Missioned Home
Endings and New Beginnings
The closing liturgy on 4th July 2020 marked the end of the the year for another Vincentian Volunteer Group. Mati, Pablo, Risma and Sharon came from Spain, Indonesia and Uganda to join the programme in September 2019.
Their year consisted in living simply in community, praying together, and serving our sisters and brotherswho live on the edges of society. They served the homeless, the rootless, the vulnerable, the isloated and the lonely. At our recent virtual AGM it was apparent from their testomonies that their year as Vincentian Volunteers had a profound effect on them and had taught them about themselves as well as about those who carry the cross of poverty.
COVID-19 brought their experience to a sharp halt because of lockdown. None the less, Risma, Mati, Pablo and Sharon were missioned on the 4th July to take their Vincentian hearts wherever they are led by the Holy Spirit. They also take our gratitude and our prayers, as the linked article below describes so beautifully, the action of God in their lives.
